Swapping clothes is a fun, easy way to practice reuse and resource conservation! Here's how it works:
- Gather your quality, new or gently used clothing and accessories.
- Make sure all items are clean and folded.
- Bring the items you wish to donate to a clothing collection point (see above flier).
- You can also bring clothing with you to the swap, but please be prepared to wait for your items to be sorted before receiving credits.
- Visit the Clothing Swap in the Skiles courtyard between 10am and 2pm on Friday, April 17th to exchange your credits for items from our collection. You will need proof of identity (Buzzcard, Driver's License, etc.) or a copy of your email notification to redeem credits.
- Go home with the satisfaction of knowing that these new additions to your wardrobe cost you (and the environment) next to nothing!
Did you know?
- Conventional cotton production accounts for over $2 billion of pesticides used each year. Additionally, six pints of water are required to grow a single cotton bud. 1
- Unfair labor practices are commonplace in both the cotton and clothing industries. Workers in developing countries receive as little as 12 cents an hour in extremely poor conditions. 2
- U.S. citizens typically throw out 68 lbs of clothing and other textiles each year. 2
