Recycling

We are working along with other campus organizations, including Campus Facilities/Recycling Departments,  Student Government Association, the Office of Environmental Stewardship and Environmental Alliance at Georgia Tech to increase participation in and improve our campus recycling program in one or more of the following ways:

  •
  • Educating and Raising Awareness about proper recycling techniques and their importance
  • Providing more recycling bins in more convenient locations around campus
  • Working one-on-one with departments to ensure they practice sustainable purchasing (recycled paper, etc.) and waste disposal
  • Implementing a dual-stream recycling program across the entire campus
  • Directing more funding to the recycling department for improvements and expansion

For more information about our recycling campaign or to get involved, please contact our recycling campaign manager, Sheri Baucom.

Several SOS members recently volunteered for the Sony Take Back Electronics Recycling Day at Turner Field.  Swathi Narayanaswamy and her parents even got to shoot a short interview with a reporter from CNN.  Thanks for mentioning us Swathi!
